Certification - Quality Assured

RDC are certified to International Standards that ensure products and services are safe, reliable and of good quality. For us, they are strategic tools that help us reduce costs by minimising waste and errors and provide a mechanism to increase productivity through continual improvement.

RDC's Management System is certified to the following international standards:

  • BS EN ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System
    Certification to International Quality Assurance Standard ISO 9001 demonstrates that the company is in control of the processes and procedures operated, manages continued growth and is committed to continual improvement. RDC were first certificated in 2000.
  • BS EN ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System
    RDC is also certified the International Environmental Management Standard ISO 14001. This demonstrates that RDC has assessed the environmental aspects of its operations and is committed to monitoring, controlling and improving environmental performance.
  • BS OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health & Safety Management
    Health and Safety control is demonstrated by RDC certification to OHSAS 18001. RDC has assessed health & safety risks in all aspects of its operations and is committed to monitoring, controlling and reducing risks within the workplace.
  • PAS 99:2006 Integrated Management System
    In July 2004, RDC became only the third organisation in the UK and one of less than 200 in the World to be certified to the BSI’s Integrated Management System Standard. PAS 99 incorporates health and safety, environment, information security and quality
  • BS ISO 27001:2005 Information Security Management
    Certification to ISO 27001 demonstrates RDC has identified the security risks associated with its operations, evaluated the impact of security failures and developed controls to mitigate the risks. Policies, procedures and security controls have been implemented and people trained to use them.

Awards - We have received:

Queens Award for Enterprise for International Trade 2012

RDC has been awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise for International Trade 2012. This is RDC's third Queens Award for Enterprise following the award for Sustainable Development in 2009, 1 only 10 winners from the whole of the UK and the Award for Innovation in 2002 for developing the IT asset management business model that has formed the basis for the company's success.

Having already been granted a Queens Award for Enterprise in 2002 for Innovation, for our in house IT Asset Management model, in April 2009 RDC was granted a second award, this time in the Sustainable Development category; 1 of only 10 winners from the whole of the UK. These awards are testament to the continued market best practice RDC maintain.

Environmental Company of the Year 2009 Microscope ACES (Awards for Channel Excellence)

We have also been recognised by industry peers. In June 2009, following nominations from BT and the Environment Agency and public votes, we won Environmental Company of the Year at the Microscope Awards for Channel Excellence.

CIWM Award for Environmental Excellence 2010

The CIWM performance of the year award is designed to recognise excellent performance in recycling across all industries.

Green procurement

The primary materials used in the delivery of our services include cardboard, shrink wrap and protective internal packaging.

  • We source cardboard packaging materials made from100% recycled cardboard
  • We use plastic packing made from biodegradable material; these are airbags to replace the LDPE plastic bags that RDC bale and sell for recycling along with baled plastic film-wrap used to stabilise palletised loads in transit and storage
