FROM THE SOUTH (LONDON) – M25

From London head north on the M25 toward the M11, at junction 27 take the exit toward Stansted Airport/Harlow/Cambridge. Continue on the ramp and merge onto the M11. Next take the A120(E) exit toward Stansted Airport/Colchester. There’s a Slight right onto M11 and Continue onto A120. After 14.2 miles take the A131/Chelmsford/Braintree town centre. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Pod’s Brook Rd/B1256 follow for 0.5 miles then at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Springwood Drive (Springwood Industrial Estate) RDC’s Head Office is 500m on the left.

FROM STANSTED AIRPORT – A120

Head south east on Pincey Rd, At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Bassingbourn Rd. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit (Go through 1 roundabout) and merge onto A120 via the ramp to Harwich/Colchester/Chelmsford/A131 for 12.7 miles. Take the ramp to A131/Chelmsford/Braintree town centre. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Pod’s Brook Rd/B1256. At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Springwood Drive (Springwood Industrial Estate) RDC’s Head Office is 500m on the left.

FROM IPSWICH – A12

From Ipswich, head north on Civic Dr/A1022 toward Route 51. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A1071. Continue onto London Rd/A1214. Continue to follow A1214 for 2.3 miles and pass through 1 roundabout. At the next large roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the A12 South towards Colchester. Stay on the A12 for 18.2 miles. At junction 25, take the A120 (W) exit to Stansted Airport/Marks Tey. Continue for 0.4 miles and at the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto A120. Follow for 0.3 miles and when you reach the next roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Coggeshall Rd/A120. Continue to follow A120 for 9.1 miles (go through 2 roundabouts). You will arrive at another roundabout, take the 1st exit and stay on A120 (Go through 1 roundabout) for a further 3.0 miles, then take the A131/B1256 ramp (0.2 miles) to Chelmsford/Rayne. As you approach the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto A131/B1256 then continue to follow B1256 (Go through 1 roundabout). Continue for 0.7 miles then at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Springwood Drive (Springwood Industrial Estate) RDC’s Head Office is 500m on the left.

FROM CHELMSFORD – A131

From Chelmsford town centre head south on Bond St, at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Springfield Rd/A1099 (Continue to follow Springfield Rd for 0.5 miles). Turn left onto Arbour Ln for 0.5 miles, then take a slight right onto Church Ln and then take the 2nd left onto Lawn Ln for (0.8 miles). At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Chelmer Valley Rd/A1016. Continue for (0.4 miles). At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Essex Regiment Way/A130 (Go through 3 roundabouts 2.7 miles). At the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Braintree Rd/A131, continue to follow A131 (Go through 6 roundabouts spanning 6.1 miles). Follow until the next roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Pod’s Brook Rd/B1256 (0.6 miles). At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Springwood Drive (Springwood Industrial Estate) RDC’s Head Office is 500m on the left.

This is direct, no changes with an approximate journey time of 1 hour.

TRAIN DIRECTIONS – From Ipswich – Witham – Braintree

This journey has one change, Witham. The duration of the journey is approximately 40 minutes to Witham where you must change to the Braintree branch line which takes a further 16 minutes to arrive at Braintree.

Please note that the final destination is Braintree (BTR), not Braintree Freeport (BTP)
