Circular Services Business Development Manager

We are the world's foremost IT asset disposition company, the market leader in our industry for over 30 years, we are proud to name many of the world's largest & most prestigious companies & organisations among our long-term customer base. As part of the Computacenter group, we continue to expand our Circular Services brand and global capabilities to Computacenter's customer & partner community, we are seeking a sales specialist to leverage these powerful partnerships and expand our business further.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Sales the role will focus on driving growth from three of our focus areas:

  1. Computacenter sector customers – Working with a team of sales specialists you will be responsible for supporting them on bids and opportunities that come from our customer base.
  2. Vendor/partner relationships - establishing and building relationships with our vendor partners for them to utilise both our service and remarketing capabilities.
  3. Major inbound opportunities - managing inbound major opportunities by ensuring the optimal propositions & commercial models are presented and delivered to conclusion.

The role be based primarily in Blackfriars/Braintree or home with regular travel to company & customer locations.


  • Bid Coordination: Lead and coordinate the bid process, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
  • Requirements Analysis: Work closely with clients to understand their ITAD needs and translate requirements into effective bid responses.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare compelling and well-structured bid documents, including technical and commercial proposals, demonstrating a deep understanding of ITAD services.
  • Collaboration: Engage with various internal teams, including sales, operations, and finance, to gather necessary information and insights for bid preparation.
  • Pricing Strategies: Develop competitive pricing strategies while maintaining profitability and ensuring alignment with client expectations.
  • Compliance: Ensure bid submissions adhere to regulatory and compliance standards, demonstrating the company's commitment to ethical business practices.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their evolving needs and feedback.

Performance Indicators

As a Bid Manager at Computacenter, your success will be measured by key performance indicators (KPIs) that reflect your contribution to the company's growth and bid success. The following performance indicators will be used to assess your effectiveness in the role:

  • Win Rate: Achieving a high percentage of successful bid wins against submitted proposals, showcasing your ability to create compelling and competitive bids.
  • Timeliness: Ensuring the timely submission of bids within deadlines, reflecting your efficiency in coordinating, and managing the bid process.
  • Revenue Growth: Contributing to the overall revenue growth by securing new business opportunities through successful bid submissions.
  • Client Satisfaction: Maintaining positive feedback from clients through effective communication, responsiveness, and the ability to address their ITAD needs in bid proposals.
  • Compliance Adherence: Ensuring that all bid submissions align with regulatory and compliance standards, demonstrating the company's commitment to ethical business practices.
  • Cost-effectiveness: Managing pricing strategies to achieve a balance between competitiveness and profitability in bid submissions.
  • Internal Collaboration: Demonstrating effective collaboration with internal teams, as measured by feedback and input from sales, operations, service, and finance departments.
  • Innovation: Introducing and implementing innovative approaches to enhance the quality and competitiveness of bid submissions.

Your performance against these indicators will be regularly reviewed to support your professional growth and ensure alignment with Computacenter's strategic objectives.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • ITAD Industry: In-depth understanding of IT Asset Disposition industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Bid Management: Proven knowledge and experience in bid management processes, including the ability to analyze client requirements and translate them into comprehensive bid responses.
  • IT Services: Familiarity with a broad range of IT services, including asset disposal, data sanitization, and secure recycling.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards governing IT asset disposition, ensuring bid submissions align with legal and ethical standards.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and commercial concepts in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple bids concurrently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Collaboration: Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, demonstrating the ability to gather information and insights from various departments for bid preparation.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret technical requirements and pricing strategies, contributing to the development of competitive bids.
  • Client Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and incorporating feedback into bid proposals.
  • Bid Management Experience: Proven experience in bid management roles within the IT or technology industry, with a successful track record of securing new business through competitive bids.
  • Client-Facing Roles: Previous experience in client-facing roles, showcasing the ability to understand client needs and deliver tailored bid responses.
  • Industry Networking: Demonstrated experience in networking within the ITAD or related industry, staying informed about market trends and potential business opportunities.
